It’s called hot-miking a phone. The microphone on a smartphone can be used as a remote listening device. That’s some real NSA stuff. If you ever wanted to hear what is going on in a room while you are not at home, you can activate the smartphone to pick up sound. This is also known as a roving bug.

Have you ever wanted to bug a room? That’s right, put a listening device in somebody’s house?  Some of these bugs, or taps cost 1000 of dollars.

This history of audio surveillance

Alfred Hubest

The relatively modern art of technical audiosurveillance is the counterpart of audio communications, following like a shadow close on the heels of every development in the latter’s techniques. Shortly after the first telegraph for commercial purposes was installed between Washington and Baltimore in 1844, private individuals began intercepting its messages in order to grab profits in east-west marketing manipulations, to steal exclusive news stories, and to further other unlawful purposes. By 1862 public concern over the interception of telegraph messages was shown in California’s enactment of legislation prohibiting the practice. Extensive military use of wire-tapping during the Civil War established it as a recognized tool of the intelligence services of both armies.

What if you could use a cell phone as a listening device?

If you want to listen in to what a smartphone is picking up, in real time, without anyone knowing you are spying on them then you’ll need these tools. The most powerful feature gives you the power to hear their surroundings just by calling them on your own phone when their phone is not being used. You will be able to eavesdrop on exactly what is taking place around them, all covert. Their phone does not perform any functions or dead giveaways as if nothing is happening making you safe from detection at all times.

The technology is here where you can not only tap, track, view photos on a phone but also use it as a listening device.

Best way to find out if your spouse, boyfriend or girlfriend is cheating on you. Now you can obtain the proof without having to hire an expensive investigator.

According to an article by the BBC about smartphone spying,

Mr Snowden talked about GCHQ’s “Smurf Suite”, a collection of secret intercept capabilities individually named after the little blue imps of Belgian cartoon fame.

“Dreamy Smurf is the power management tool which means turning your phone on and off without you knowing,” he said.

“Nosey Smurf is the ‘hot mic’ tool. For example if it’s in your pocket, [GCHQ] can turn the microphone on and listen to everything that’s going on around you – even if your phone is switched off because they’ve got the other tools for turning it on.

“Tracker Smurf is a geo-location tool which allows [GCHQ] to follow you with a greater precision than you would get from the typical triangulation of cellphone towers.”

The technology has been around for a while to monitor smartphones. Now you can have this power as well to monitor all activity in and around a smartphone.  Learn more.
